Good, antique, hardcover book with gilt botanical illustration on the front panel (no dust jacket, as issued), and top edge gilt; the book is clean, tight, square, and -- and but for a prior owner's name and address stamped on a front end page (see photo) -- free of any markings showing lightly age-toned pages, occasional very light foxing throughout, and a slight tearing in the front end page gutters but binding integrity remains intact (see photos) and a small 1/4" tear to the back free end page but otherwise showing only light additional wear to the text block ; boards show moderate shelf, edge, and corner wear especially to the spine ends which show fraying but remain consistent with age and remain in good, antique condition; 205 pages; published 1867 by Ticknor & Fields / University Press: Welch, Bigelow, & Co, Cambridge; first edition showing FE point of the word "flowers" instead of "hours" to page 184, line 4; purchaser signature confirmation will be required upon delivery.
